Terms of Use
1. Scope
These terms govern the use of thecaseconverter.com (“the Service”), operated by Thorsten Meyer, Blombergstrasse 11 C, 82393 Iffeldorf, Germany. By using the Service you accept these terms.
2. The Service
The Service is a free, browser-based text tool that converts the capitalization of text you provide. All processing happens locally in your browser; we neither receive nor store your text. The Service is provided free of charge and without registration.
3. Your content
You keep all rights to any text you type or paste. Because your text is never transmitted to us, we make no claim to it and cannot access it. You are responsible for ensuring that your use of any text complies with applicable law and third-party rights.
4. Acceptable use
You may use the Service for any lawful purpose, private or commercial. You may not attempt to disrupt, overload or attack the website, scrape it in a way that degrades it for others, or misrepresent its output as certified or legally validated text.
4a. Optional AI features (bring your own key)
The AI assistant at /ai/ operates exclusively with an Anthropic API key you supply. By using it you acknowledge that: (a) AI requests are made directly from your browser to Anthropic under your key, your Anthropic account and Anthropic's terms; (b) all costs those requests incur are billed by Anthropic to you and are solely your responsibility; (c) we provide no AI compute, act as no intermediary, and give no warranty for the availability, cost or output quality of the Anthropic API; and (d) AI-generated output can be wrong — review it before use. You are responsible for keeping your key secure and for removing it from shared devices.
5. Availability & warranty
The Service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without any warranty of availability, fitness for a particular purpose or correctness of conversions. Case conversion follows general conventions (e.g. AP-style title case) but no guarantee is given that output meets any specific style guide. Always review converted text before using it.
6. Liability
We are liable without limitation for intent and gross negligence, and for injury to life, body or health. For slight negligence we are liable only for breaches of essential contractual obligations, limited to the foreseeable damage typical for this kind of free service. Liability under mandatory statutory provisions remains unaffected.
7. Changes to the Service and these terms
We may modify, extend or discontinue the Service at any time. Material changes to these terms will be published on this page with an updated date.
8. Governing law
The law of the Federal Republic of Germany applies, excluding the UN Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods. For consumers, mandatory consumer-protection provisions of their country of residence remain unaffected.
